Once Upon a Time's Wonderland Spinoff Spinoff Casts Alice and Gets a Title

Aussie actress Sophie Lowe has just been cast as the lead character, the famous Alice, in ABC's Once Upon a Time spinoff project, which has now been officially titled Once: Wonderland.

According to Deadline, the series takes place in a pre-curse Wonderland, told through the point of view of Alice - earlier reports had it set in the same post-curse era as Once Upon a Time. Alice is joined by two other characters, Cyrus, "Alice's love interest with a background shrouded in mystery," and the Knave of Hearts, "a sardonic adventurer, a man of action, a loner and a heart-breaker." Cyrus will be played by Peter Gadiot, with Michael Socha portraying the Knave of Hearts.

Once Upon a Time creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz are writing the 15-20-page, four-scene presentation, with contributions from writers Zack Estrin and Jane Espenson. Production will begin on April 7 in Vancouver after Once wraps shooting there.
