Everyone has heard the rumors Apple might dip its toes in the television market with its very own HD panel. Generally, these rumors crop up, and then Apple denies the whole affair, and around it goes. A new rumor -- this time from an Apple supply chain source to DigiTimes -- says an Apple-branded television might show up before the end of the year.
According to the unnamed sources, Apple remains in discussions with one of its primary manufacturing partners, Foxconn, in regards to mass producing a Cupertino-designed television. But Apple is apparently having some difficulty finding a supplier for the panel, rumored to be a 3840 x 2160 Ultra HD display.
The current frontrunner -- according to the sources -- is Korea's LG Display, who are interested in producing UHD panels later this year. The Apple television, reportedly dubbed "iTV," could launch by the end of 2013, or early 2014.
