Another teaser trailer for the 8th - and possibly final - season of Dexter has become available, which you can see below. The series is set to return this summer, rather than in the fall as was its tradition, as a lead in/to help usher in Showtime's new crime-drama Ray Donovan.
The first teaser for the returning serial killer drama featured a list of names of those who had perished at Dexter's hands, or who were collateral damage. This latest trailer provides a bit more of a sense of what we may see in the upcoming season.
As we would imagine, it looks as if this season will deal primarily with the consequences of Dexter's identity being revealed to Deb - and her subsequent actions - as well as his changing attitude about his "dark passenger" and Harry's code.
As we've discussed previously, Showtime has been fairly unclear about whether or not this would in fact be the final season of this series. Actors and producers have said that it will be, whereas the network has been less forthcoming with a confirmation. President and Chief Executive Officer of CBS (who own Showtime), Les Moonves, has said that it will be the final season, but until there is an absolute final confirmation, we cannot be certain. Either way, there is at least one more bloody season ahead.
Dexter Season 8 is set to premiere on June 30 at 9/8c on Showtime.
