Paul Reubens a.k.a. Pee-Wee Herman is set to join the cast of the Once Upon a Time spinoff, Deadline reports. The actor will be voicing The White Rabbit in the Alice in Wonderland-themed series. Once Upon a Time co-creators Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz are behind the presentation, which is set in Wonderland prior to the onset of Regina the Evil Queen’s curse. It follows Alice (Sophie Lowe), her love interest Cyrus (Peter Gadiot), the Knave of Hearts (Michael Socha) and the Red Queen (Emma Rigby) on their journeys in the mythical realm.
If the project goes to series Barbara Hershey will reportedly return in flashbacks as Cora, the Queen of Hearts. There had been some speculation that Sebastian Stan may also periodically guest star in a reprisal of his role as the Mad Hatter, though nothing official has been said other than that his role will not be recast. The show will serve to tide fans over in-between seasons of Once Upon a Time.
