Brisbane-based SEGA Studios Australia is closing down later this year, reports Kotaku.
The studio's most recent game was London 2012. Prior to this the team operated as the Australian branch of British developer The Creative Assembly and worked on a variety of games including Medieval II: Total War and Stormrise.
The news comes just over a year after a restructure of SEGA Studios Australia that saw around half of the studio's staff laid off following a shift towards the digital marketplace.
In June last year SEGA closed down its Australian and European offices (bringing in third-party distribution partners in these territories) so IGN has been directed to SEGA's UK HQ for comment. We'll provide an update if further details on the closure become available.
